Bhubaneswar: Odisha Dibas Samaroha 2025 is being celebrated in a grand way at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in New Delhi on the occasion of the state’s foundation day on Tuesday.
Odisha’s art, rich culture, traditions and tourist places are on display during the event. Elaborate arrangements have been made to showcase the state’s cultural heritage under the guidance of renowned Odia artist Gajendra Sahu, sources said.
Art works based on the themes of festivals like Dola Jatra, Bali Jatra as well as Chhau dance are on display. The rich cuisines of Odisha will also be distributed during the celebration.
The inaugural ceremony is being held at the JLN stadium in the evening. A host of dignitaries, including Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishaw and Jual Oram are likely to grace the programme.
A cultural programme will be performed by music director Premananda and his troupe. Similarly, eminent Odissi dancer Saswat Joshi will also perform in the cultural programme.
On this day in 1936, Odisha became a separate province. It was the first to receive statehood on the basis of language.
