Green Corridor Created To Shift Rishabh Pant To Mumbai Hospital

Mumbai: Mumbai Police created a green corridor to transport Rishabh Pant from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute on Wednesday evening.

Pant, who was involved in a near-fatal road accident early on December 30, was airlifted from Dehradun to Mumbai under the supervision of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for further treatment and ligament surgery.

An ambulance had been waiting outside the airport, and once the flight landed, Pant was rushed to the private hospital through a green corridor — a special route managed in such a way that all traffic signals en route to the destination are green and controlled manually.

Pant, whose Mercedes hit a divider near Roorkee and caught fire, managed to come out of the car in the nick of time with the help of the driver and conductor of a Haryana Roadways bus.

The Team India wicketkeeper-batsman suffered cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe besides suffering injuries on his back.

He was initially taken to a district hospital before being shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun.

The BCCI’s panel of doctors, in consultation with other experts, then decided to shift him to Mumbai for ligament treatment.

Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, Head of Centre for Sports Medicine and Director Arthroscopy & Shoulder Service at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, will oversee Pant’s treatment, the BCCI said.
