Cuttack: A bridegroom was was arrested from the marriage mandap on the charge of getting married for second time in the city on Friday.
According to sources, Prakash Samal of Chakrapur village under Mahanga police limits in the district had married Jayanti Samal in 2007. There was reportedly a marital discord between the couple for a long time.
Jayanti filed a complaint at Madhupatna police station on the day alleging that Prakash was getting married to another woman at the temple in the city. On the basis of the complaint, police went to the temple and arrested Prakash before he could tie the knots with the new bride.
Prakash told the police that he decided to marry another woman due to constant dispute with Jayanti for a long time, the sources said.
