Balangir: The villagers of Chaulsukha in Odisha’s Balangir district detained a groom at the wedding venue as he reached the spot without the mandatory baarat (wedding procession).
Well, the villagers took the step after they found out that the groom hadfaked his identity as well as address.
The groom, whose real name is Laxmikant Tiwari, had identified himself as Sanjay Sahu of Kalahandi district and even showed the bride’s family wrong house and address.
Moreover, though the wedding time was fixed for Monday, Tiwari reached the venue hours later without any baraat. Suspecting his activities, the villagers self-probed into the man’s details and found out that he had faked everything for the marriage.
Worse, even the jewellery that he claimed to have bought for the bride were also fake. He was detained by villagers and Kantabanji Police was informed . Police reached the spot and took him into custody.
