Group Clash In Cuttack Claims One Life

Athagarh: A clash between two groups claimed one life and injured one at Bentapada village under Athagrah police limits in Cuttack district on Sunday.

Mahendra Mohanty from Mohanty-Sahi in Dhanurjaypur village lost his life while the injured person was identified as Sanjay Mohanty from the same locality.

According to sources, a miscreants’ group from Gopal-Sahi of Dhanurjaypur village launched attack at night on Mahendra and Sanjay with sharp weapons on July 3. Both of them were left severely injured.

After the attack, they both were rushed to Athagarh Hospital, but their conditions started deteriorating and were soon shifted SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Mahendra unfortunately died on Sunday while undergoing treatment.

A case has been registered at Athagarh Police Station, but the cops are yet to detain any of the miscreants. The family of Mahendra has demanded for immediate arrest of the accused.
