Dhenkanal: Tension ran high at Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) at Sarang in Dhenkanal district following a clash between two groups of students on Wednesday.
The fight between the two groups took a violent turn when some senior and junior students attacked each other with sticks and later ransacked the hostel of the institute.
Heavy police force have been deployed in and around the college premises to prevent any untoward incident.
Police attributed the clash to past enmity.
