GST Raid On 3 Jewellery Shops In Odisha’s Gajapati

Paralakhemundi: A team of GST officials conducted simultaneous raids on 3 jewellery shops in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Tuesday.

Speaking to media, Manoj Panda, enforcement officer, CT & GST, Berhampur said the raids were conducted on 3 jewellery shops belonging to one person in Paralakhemundi town on the order of GST Commissioner.

“The GST team comprising 9 officials will check the account books, tax statements and other document in the three shops to detect any discrepancies in GST evasion. The team would also check the gold stock and relevant document on payment of taxes in all the shops,” he said.

Besides, the bills issued to the consumers would also be verified by the GST team, said Panda. The GST authorities would take appropriate steps on the basis of the report that would be submitted by the enforcement team after the raids, he added.
