Bhubaneswar: Three teams of Directorate General of GST Intelligence conducted a raid on a private coaching centre in Odisha capital on Tuesday evening following allegations of tax evasion by the institute.
Sources said that simultaneous raids are being carried out at three places linked to Vanik Insititute, which imparts coaching to aspirants for IAS, OAS, UPSC and other competitive examinations, in Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.
The GST officials examined and seized documents of the institute while investigating tax evasion allegations.
Central GST officials and Vanik chief managing director Subrat Chhatoi could not be contacted for their comments on the ongoing raid, which is expected to continue for some more time.
