Rourkela: GT Lane near Rourkela city, a slum in Traffic Gate Market and vegetable shop under Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) jurisdiction were declared as containment zones on Sunday for 48 hours after the detection of a COVID-19 positive case.
The officials put barricades in the areas. The fire department on Monday will spray chemicals to sanitise the locality.
Nobody is allowed to go into the containment zone and the inhabitants within the containment zone will not be allowed to move out. All the residents of the zone will strictly remain at home. Besides, all shopping establishments, government and private institutions within the boundary of the containment zone will remain closed.
Notably, the number of corona cases in the Sundargarh district is on a rise. The number of corona cases in the district has risen to 668. A total of 419 patients are being treated at various COVID hospitals while 247 have already recovered.
