Bhubaneswar: Like Dussehra Puja, the immersion of Durga idols is also going to be a routine ritual devoid of any fanfare on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar, Umashankar Das said all matters regarding the immersion have been discussed with the puja committees. All the mandaps have been informed about the timings and routes, he added.
The traffic movement during the immersion has been restricted on some routes and diverted in others. The Commissionerate Police has identified seven spots in the city for the immersion of idols.
The puja committees have been directed not to use loud music and to take the idol on a vehicle and immerse them in the designated spots.
Das said 22 platoons of police force will be deployed to maintain law and order during the procession.
Earlier, Cuttack, Puri and Berhampur also issued the guidelines for the immersion procession.
