Gun-Toting Robbers Loot Gramya Bank In Odisha’s Baleshwar



Baleshwar: In a broad daylight robbery, armed dacoits looted Odisha Gramya Bank branch at Rasalpur in Baleshwar


district on Tuesday after assaulting its employees.

Police sources said that at least four robbers armed with firearms reached the bank on two motorcycles in the afternoon. The robbers reportedly barged into the bank and threatened the staff at gunpoint.

They also thrashed some bank employees before looting cash from the branch. When the manager refused to hand over the locker keys, the assailants hit him with a weapon, leaving him injured.

After carrying out the robbery, the accused fled the spot on the motorcycles with the stolen cash.
The exact amount of cash looted is yet to be ascertained.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused. Further details are awaited.
