Jammu: Four terrorists belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror outfit were gunned down by security forces while one police officer was injured in an intense gunfight near Jammu district’s Nagrota on Thursday.
According to Hindustan Times, the gunbattle began around 4.50 am near the toll plaza in the Ban area of Nagrota on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
Akhnoor’s Special Operations Group officer Kuldeep Raj (32) was injured in the exchange of fire and was hospitalised in GMCH Jammu with neck injuries. His condition is said to be stable.
According to officials in the know, a truck was ferrying the terrorists to Kashmir. “It was put to check by the policemen at the toll plaza because we had intelligence inputs with us,” the officials said.
