Bhubaneswar: A Gupchup seller was injured after three unidentified miscreants opened fired on him at Sahani-Kashipur village under Tamando police limits in Odisha capital late on Thursday.
Fortunately, the bullet missed the target and hit the tamarind water pot instead. The victim, identified as Rabindra Swain, sustained minor injuries in the firing. Though the gupchup seller belongs to Bologad, he had been staying in a rented house at Kashipur village.
The incident took place when he was returning home from Tamando Bazaar after the day’s work. The miscreants attacked him near NH-16 and snatched away Rs 900 from him.
The miscreants then fled towards Khurda.
On being informed, Tamando police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
On Thursday evening, three miscreants had looted a motorcycle from one Prashant Rath at Kalinga Nagar in Bhubaneswar.
It is suspected that the same gang committed both the crimes.
