Bhubaneswar: Guru Ghanashyam Panda was felicitated with the Sangeet Sudhakar Balakrushna Das Smaraki Samman 2022 by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal at a function held in the state capital on Monday. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a citation.
The event was organised to mark Balakrushna Das’ 99th birth anniversary and Sangeet Sudhakar Balakrushna Das Foundation’s 30th anniversary at the Rabindra Mandap.
Others who were awarded at the event were Shantilata Chhotray (Sangeet Saraswati), Guru Sachidananda Das (Badya Saraswati) and Pandit Artatrana Satpathy (Geeti Saraswati). The awards carry a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation.
Young talent Manoj Kumar Mati was awarded the Sangeet Sudhakar Smruti Bruti. It carries a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
Padma Shri Shyamamani Devi and journalists Keshav Pani and Sukesh Behera were also felicitated at the event, which also saw the unveiling of Sachikanta Nayak’s book Chhanda Samikhya.
