Gurugram: An inhuman act of cruelty and criminality surfaced here, underlining the malaise of oppression against women and children in our society.
A 13-year-old girl from Bihar, who worked as domestic help in a Gurugram apartment, was subjected to various abuse, including severe assaults, dog bites and forced nudity by members of her employers, police said.
According to the complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the woman of the house frequently assaulted the teen with an iron rod and hammer, while her two sons allegedly coerced her to strip, filmed her nude and engaged in inappropriate touching.
The girl was held captive in a room with her mouth taped before being eventually freed on Saturday.
The complaint further revealed that the girl was provided food once in two days and her mouth was taped so that she can’t raise an alarm.
The employers allegedly poured acid on her hands and threatened to kill her if she spoke about her ordeal to anyone, according to the FIR filed at Sector 51 Women’s Police Station.
The victim’s mother had arranged the job for her daughter on June 27 with the help of a person who cleans vehicles in a nearby area.
The girl was promised a monthly salary of Rs 9,000, which the mother received for the first two months only.
The woman and her two sons were charged under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 344 (Wrongful confinement for 10 or more days), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
They were also booked under Section 10 of POCSO Act and Section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act.
