Baripada: Dr Anjan Sarangi, a well-known gynaecologist from Baripada in Odisha, died in a road accident on Sunday.
According to sources, the car he was driving rammed into a truck at Manchabandha near Baripada around 9.35 am. Soon after the accident, the t
ruck driver fled without bothering about the condition of the occupant of the car.
Since it was a secluded spot, locals got to know about the incident much later and found him trapped behind the steering wheel. A seriously injured Dr Sarangi was rescued from the damaged car using a gas cutter and admitted to PRMMCH, Baripada. He died near Bhadrak while being taken to AIIMS for better treatment.
Such was the impact of the accident that all that remained of the vehicle was a pile of mangled metal.
