Puri: Vigilance sleuths apprehended Dr Sukant Kumar Jena, a gynaecologist at Charichak Medical CHC in Odisha’s Puri district, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 for conducting a cesarian operation.
He had allegedly demanded Rs 3000 post-operation and Rs 5000 prior to the surgical procedure of the complainant’s cousin.
The entire bribe money was recovered from him.
Following his arrest, raids are being conducted on his properties at Kalarahanga in Bhubaneswar.
