Puri: A Habishyali died at Jagannath temple in Odisha’s pilgrim town of Puri after having darshan of the sibling deities on Friday.
According to sources, the health condition of the 73-year-old devotee, identified as Fakir Dhalua of Nayagarh district, deteriorated while she was sitting at Nilachal garden on the premises of 12th-century shrine. She was then rushed to the districts headquarters hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Notably, over 3,000 habisyalis are observing the brata in Puri, which has been witnessing a surge in devotees with the commencement of the Kartik month’s five auspicious days, known as Panchuka, on Thursday.
