Sheikhupura: In yet another incident highlighting the close relations that the Pakistan Army shares with terrorist outfits in the country, the son of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leader and 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed has publicly praised Asim Munir.
The Pakistan Army chief has “once again revived” the concepts of “faith, piety and jihad for the cause of Allah”, Hafiz Talha Saeed, the son of UN-designated terrorist and LeT founder said during a public speech in Sheikhupura, Pakistan.
In a video that has now surfaced, Talha Saeed is heard praising Munir for being a Hafiz of the Quran and saying he was grateful that Pakistan had an Army chief and field marshal who had memorised the holy book. Munir had revived the concepts of “Iman, Taqwa and Jihad” – faith, piety and jihad, he said, as reported by News18.
The remarks are significant given the long-standing allegations regarding the space available to banned terror outfits and their leaders in Pakistan.
In an anti-India tirade following his praise of Munir, Talha Saeed, saie that he and others had taken an oath to wage “jihad” and would continue the campaign as long as they remained alive and capable of doing so.
“We are those who took the pledge of jihad,” he said, claiming that they were prepared to continue making sacrifices.
The LeT leader claimed that Muslims had ruled the subcontinent for 500 years and questioned whether those governing from Delhi had forgotten “who Delhi belonged to”.
“Muslims ruled India for 500 years,” he said, adding that his idea was based on historical facts.
The public appearance and speech by Talha Saeed makes it clear that the administration in Pakistan continues to support and provide refuge to terror outfits and terrorists proscribed by the United Nations and countries like India and the US.
