Bhubaneswar: Amidst allegations by the Opposition political parties over rising crimes against women, Mancheswar police rescued a newly-wed woman in a half-burnt condition on Sunday.
Police also detained the woman’s husband and interrogation is to ascertain reasons behind her incident. Condition of the woman, who has been identified as Priti Pragyan Parija, is stated to be critical.
Meanwhile, her family has filed a complaint with Mancheswar police.
A number of questions are still unanswered such as, why the husband was missing on the day of the incident, how the woman was burnt, etc. Details are awaited.
