Bhubaneswar: The Special Handloom Expo-2024, organised by Sambalpuri Bastralaya, was opened in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
Pranati Chhotray, Director of Textiles inaugurated the Special Expo at Ekamra Haat in the city. The handloom expo, organised with POHI-2023-24 funds, will continue till March 31.
PWCS/SHGs from Baragrh, Cuttack, Sonepur, Athagarh, Baripada, Balasore, Patanagarh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Koraput and Boudh besides Sambalpuri Bastralaya have opened 34 stalls for sale of their products in the expo.
The stalls have been allotted to the participants free of cost. The customers can get handloom products from all over the state at a reasonable price with 10% rebate.
Mamata Nayak, Joint Secretary, Binapani Naik, joint secretary, HT&H department, Debajit Nandy, Joint Director of Textiles, Hrushikesh Mahali, Managing Director, Sambalpuri Bastralaya, and Hemanta Kumar Mishra, Marketing Officer, Sambalpuri Bastralaya were present in the inaugural ceremony.
