Hangzhou Asian Games: 14th Athlete From Odisha Included In Indian Contingent

Bhubaneswar: Odisha cyclist Dinesh Kumar has been included in the revised Indian contingent for the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Dinesh will thus be the 14th sportsperson from Odisha to represent the country in the 19th Asian Games.

The 13 from Odisha who had originally qualified for the prestigious quadrennial continental Games are Kishore Jena (athletics); Anshika Bharati, Ritu Kaudi, Sonali Swain (rowing); Anupama Swain (ju-jitsu); Neha Devi Leichondam (kayaking & canoeing); Pyari Xaxa (football); Deep Grace Ekka and Amit Rohidas (hockey); Dumuni Marndi, Tarulata Naik, Mama Naik and Hupi Majhi (rugby).

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced Rs 10 lakh each for the Asian Games-bound sportspersons from Odisha.
