Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Wednesday participated in a march held in Bhubaneswar as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’.

Encouraging citizens to display the national flag at their residences in view of the 78th Independence Day, the Chief Minister said the programme has succeeded in instilling a feeling of patriotism among the people.

The march was held from Lingaraj Temple in Old Town area up to Mukteswar Temple ahead of the Independence Day. Apart from the CM, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, government chief whip Saroj Kumar Pradhan, MLA Babu Singh, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and other dignitaries also took part in the rally.

The Chief Minister had on Monday launched the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 3.0 at Lok Seva Bhawan in Odisha capital,

The campaign, which aimed at encouraging citizens to display the national flag at their residences, began on August 9 and will continue till August 15.

Majhi urged everyone to join the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign and awaken and revive their feelings towards the country. The aim of this campaign is to make the importance of the national flag accessible to every citizen. “I request all people of Odisha to join this campaign. Everyone should hoist the national flag at home and upload your selfie on harghartiranga.com,” he said

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a nationwide call, urging citizens to participate in the third edition of the campaign aimed at raising awareness about the national flag and to instil a sense of patriotism in the people. “As this year’s Independence Day approaches, let’s again make #HarGharTiranga a memorable mass movement. I am changing my profile picture and I urge you all to join me in celebrating our Tricolour by doing the same. And yes, do share your selfies on https://harghartiranga.com,” he posted on X.

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was launched in 2022 under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav to mark 75 years of India’s independence. More than 5 crore selfies were uploaded on the website that year.

According to the official website of the campaign, the idea of this campaign was rooted in the thought that people’s relationship with the Indian flag has always been formal and official. By bringing the Tiranga home, people will be able to connect with the Indian flag, and this act will symbolise everyone’s active effort in nation-building.
