Malkangiri: A hardcore Maoist — carrying cash rewards of Rs 1 lakh — surrendered to police in Malkangiri district on Sunday.
According to reports, Mahadev Madkami, alias Muna, surrendered to the Malkangiri SP Rishikesh Dnyandeo Khilari at the district headquarters office.
He joined the CPI (Maoist) organisation in 2015 and was an active member of the Darbha division. While surrendering, he expressed his desire to lead a normal life and study further.
He will be provided monetary assistance as per the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the Odisha government.
