Haryana Violence: Curfew Imposed In Nuh After Communal Clashes

Gurugram:  Authorities on Tuesday imposed a curfew in Haryana’s Nuh district where three people were killed and several injured following violence that erupted over an attempt to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession.
Curfew has been clamped on Nuh district, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said on Tuesday.
Three people, including two Home Guards, were killed, and at least 20 others were injured in clashes that broke out between two groups in Haryana on Monday. The clash started during a religious procession in Haryana’s Nuh, adjoining Gurugram. Towards evening, violence spread to the Gurugram-Sohna highway, where several vehicles were torched. Police have stepped up security in the violence-hit districts.
Police have registered about 20 First Information Reports or FIRs and detained some people in connection with the violence that left three
people dead and at least 45 injured.  The Haryana government has sought 20 companies of the Rapid Action Force from the Centre for a week to maintain the law and order situation in Nuh district.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other leaders cutting across party lines have appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony in the state.
Khattar also said that “strictest action” will be taken against those responsible for the incident.
