Pune: Puja Khedkar—who is caught in controversies and facing the allegation of forging a disability claim during her Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam selection— has reportedly fled to Dubai to evade arrest.
Khedkar’s mobile number is switched off and she is not traceable for the past few weeks, claimed a Firstpost report.
On Thursday, Patiala House Court rejected her anticipatory bail on Thursday and said that a custodial interrogation of the accused was required to unearth the truth.
Kedkar has also been avoiding media after the controversy over her disability and OBC status claims in UPSC candidature came to the forefront. However, a section of media reports also claimed that there were no immigration records of Khedkar moving out of the country and she might not have fled to Dubai.
She was asked to report at Lal Bahadur Shashtri National Academy Of Administration in Mussoorie on July 23. According to reports, she didn’t show up there. Later, UPSC cancelled the selection of Puja Khedkar as a trainee IAS officer. She has been barred for taking the entrance exam for life as UPSC found her guilty of faking her identity several times while taking the exam.
Meanwhile, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will also scrutinise the disability certificates of six civil servants, including probationers and serving officials, according to media reports, following the Khedkar incident.
