Bengaluru: Odisha’s golden girl Jayanti Behera completed a grand treble at the 5th Indian Open Para Athletics International Championship by winning the 200m event here on Sunday.
The 23-year-old para athlete clocked 26.77 seconds to finish well ahead of two Sri Lankans at the Shree Kanteerava Stadium. Kumudika Dayani finished second in 27.68 secs and Janani Dhananjana was third in 28.26 secs.
Jayanti had earlier won gold medals in the 100m and 400m events as well.
A former World Youth champion, Jayanti claimed three gold medals each in the 2021 and 2022 National Para Athletics Championships in Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar, respectively.
She was adjudged Best Female Para Athlete in last year’s Nationals.
