Mumbai: The protests continue even as thousands flock to theatres to watch Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Pathaan’.
In a particularly nasty case of hate mongering, a Muslim cleric from Mumbai has urged right-wing elements to go to the Bollywood megastar’s home and shoot him if they really want to protest against his just-released movie.
Khalil-Ur-Rehman, a cleric from Raza Academy, has said that the movie has nothing to do with Muslims and neither is Shah Rukh a Muslim.
His outburst comes in the wake of Bajrang Dal raising objectionable slogans against Prophet Muhammad during protests against ‘Pathaan’ in Indore on Wednesday.
Rehman was of the opinion that if Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) are really serious about registering their protest, they should go and kill Shah Rukh Khan.
“You do whatever you want to do with Shah Rukh Khan, but if you utter objectionable words against our Prophet Muhammad, then we will not tolerate it,” he told Times Now.
A video of a group of people, purportedly Bajrang Dal members, raising slogans against Prophet Muhammad went viral on social media.
