Havildar Among 6 Persons Arrested For Ganja Smuggling In Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Police have arrested six persons including a Havildar in connection with ganja smuggling in Odisha’s Balangir district.

As per reports, police had arrested five persons while they were transporting ganja in a train from Balangir to Rayagada on Friday. During questioning of the arrested persons, the police came to know that Havildar Bijay Sahu of Tarabha police station was the mastermind of the racket.

The Havildar and his accomplices were carrying out illegal ganja trade across the state for some time, the arrested persons revealed. Following their revelation, the police arrested Sahu.

The police have registered a case and launched further investigation to ascertain involvement of others in the racket.
