Kalahandi: In a tragic incident, three minor girls died after a fire broke out in a field at Bijmara village in Dharmagarh area under Koksara police limits in Kalahandi on Saturday.
The deceased minor girls have been identified as twins Rosy and Desy Disari, daughters of Hemraj Disari and Rachna Rout. All the three were under the age of three years.
According to sources, the mishap took place at around 12:30 pm when the trio was playing near a paddy field. A fire broke out in the paddy field near the haystacks, following which, critically injuring the three girls. They sustained 90 per cent burn injuries.
Locals took the injured children to Koksara PHC immediately. They were later shifted to Kalahandi DHH, where they died.
Meanwhile, on being informed, fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames.
