Cuttack: The Orissa high court has dismissed an PIL, challenging validity of appointment of an additional professor and his possible promotion to the post of professor at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
In a notice to the Centre, the court, on June 4, 2021, said: “All steps taken in the matter of promotion of Dr Manoj Kumar Mohanty in the meanwhile will be subject to the outcome of the writ petition.” He was not promoted till then.
Mohanty was appointed an additional professor in April 2016. Five years later, Tushan Kanti Sahu, a retired director of Steel Authority of India, had file the petition based on information procured by a friend under the RTI Act.
