Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has sought the official notification pertaining to the appointment of law officers in Ganjam district.
Hearing three writ petitions challenging the appointments through hybrid mode, the single bench of Justice Biraja Prasanna Satapathy directed the petitioners’ counsel to produce a copy of the Law Department’s notification dated January 8, 2024, whereby they were appointed as law officers in the district.
The next hearing in the case has been listed for January 19.
The petitioners, including Chintamani Mekap and others, were represented by a team of senior advocates M Kanungo, S R Mohanty, A Dash, and C Samantaray. The opposite parties, including the State of Odisha, were represented by Additional Standing Counsel P K Panda.
