Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court on Wednesday sought a report from Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) over the incident of photographs of Jagannath Temple’s Jagamohan repair work going viral on social media.
The court has asked the SJTA to prepare a detailed report on the entire incident and submit the same by December 6.
Meanwhile, the SJTA has also issued a show-cause notice to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) regarding the incident.
On Tuesday, Justice B P Das Commission on Puri Jagannath Temple reforms had sought a detailed report from law secretary, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), district collector and SP on how several photographs went viral, within 10 days.
SJTA chief Pradeep Jena had yesterday said that the photographs were posted on Facebook by Sadanand Sharma, an official of Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research. The photos were taken during scientific investigation inside the temple to resolve the problems of ventilation and humidity inside the Jagamohan and sanctum sanctorum at the time of Rath Yatra this year, he had said.
