HCL Cyclothon: Odisha’s Swasti Singh Bags Silver, Dinesh Kumar Wins Bronze

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s cycling ace Swasti Singh continues to impress.

The 23-year-old India international bagged a silver medal in women’s elite 55 km race at the second HCL Cyclothon in Noida recently. Swasti finished behind Gujarat’s Muskan Gupta.

Rourkela girl Swasti, who received a prize money of Rs 1 lakh, had won silver medal in the inaugural edition of the event as well.

Dinesh Kumar, also from Rourkela, won another medal for Odisha as he finished third in men’s 55 km professional race.

It was Swasti’s first medal for her new employers Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).

The former Indian Railways employee earlier earned several laurels including gold medals in the 74th National Road Cycling Championship and also National Games.

A trainee at SAI National Cycling Academy in Delhi, Swasti is a psychology student at KIIT University.
