Mumbai: Actor Saanvie Tallwar has made serious allegations of harassment and assault against Karan Kundrra, recalling an alleged incident from the sets of the television show ‘Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum’.
According to Saanvie, Karan and the show’s director were unhappy with her because she preferred to keep to herself and did not socialise with the team.
She alleged that while shooting a scene, Karan kissed her before the director’s cue, following which she slapped him. Saanvie claimed that Karan then retaliated by assaulting her.
“There was a scene, but the director hadn’t clapped action; even before that, he kissed me, and I slapped him. He didn’t react at that time, but then he came back after some time and slapped me hard. There is a difference between the intensity of a girl’s and a man’s slap. I fell on the floor, and then he abused me and my family,” Saanvie was quoted as saying by Filmibeat.
She added, “Nobody supported me. Later, Ektaa ma’am (Kapoor) apologised on Karan’s behalf and supported me. She managed to make things easy.”
She revealed that Karan was dating Anusha Dandekar at the time and claimed that Anusha began visiting the sets after learning about the alleged incident.
However, Saanvie alleged that the situation soon became toxic, with Karan and the director making it increasingly difficult for her to work.
In an interview with The GlamWorld Talks, Saanvie alleged that the director began questioning her acting skills after she stood up for herself.
While the actress did not identify the director by name, Deepak Vithoba Chauhan, Ranjan Kumar Singh and Randeep Shantaram Mahadik have been associated with the show.
Saanvie also claimed that she could sense Karan’s interest in her, adding that she did not reciprocate his feelings.
The actor has spoken about the alleged incident in interviews with several publications, while Karan has not yet addressed the allegations.
Karan’s fiancée, actress Tejasswi Prakash, has also yet to respond to the allegations.
The claims come months after the couple got engaged on Desi Bling, a Netflix reality show.
