Phulbani: A headmaster has been suspended for allegedly going to school in inebriated condition in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
According to sources, Aswini Kumar Nayak, who was serving as a teacher in Government UP School at Burbinaju in the district. He was promoted and appointed as headmaster of Government UP School at Gardingia under Tikabali block 4 months back.
Following several complaints alleging that Nayak was coming to school after consuming alcohol regularly, district education officer (DEO) Pramod Kumar Sarangi had directed community education officer (CEO) Jagannath Sahani to investigate into the matter.
On the basis of investigation report submitted by the CEO confirming the allegations, Sarangi issued the suspension order to the headmaster on Thursday.
