Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena convened a crucial meeting on Thursday to discuss upgrading security and other arrangements at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar.
The meeting threw light on the proper implementation of various health schemes and programmes introduced by the state government at the health institution.
During the meeting, it was decided to provide land for setting up new Cardiothoracic, Neuroscience, Nephrology and Oncology Centres at the hospital in the near future.
Besides, special emphasis was placed on widening the road connecting the National Highway to the hospital and making proper lightning and security arrangements at AIIMS.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Surjit Das, Khurda Collector Nirmal Kumar Mishra, BMC Commissioner Dr Kishan Kumar, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar Director Dr Gitanjali Batamanabane, BMC Health Officer Dr Chandrika Das, officials from Commissionerate Police and different line departments, including National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
