Bhubaneswar: Health Minister Pratap Jena on Thursday visited the malnutrition-hit Nagada village under Sukinda block of Jajpur district.
During the one-day visit, the minister met the tribal inhabitants and discussed the healthcare scenario there.
“There has been an improvement in nutrition and health status of people in Nagada village following various initiatives of the state government aimed at providing better healthcare facilities in the area,” the minister said.
He further stressed that the central government should introduce schemes for the welfare of tribal children in the village.
Last year, Nagada had hogged headlines for 22 malnutrition deaths.
