Bhubaneswar: With the change in weather condition, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said the heat wave in the coastal districts and a few places in the north and western parts of Odisha is likely to come down in the next 24 hours.
In a mid-day bulletin, the IMD said under the influence of a north-south trough stretching from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim to south coastal Odisha, the wind from the Bay of Bengal will blow towards the state’s coast. As a result, conditions will be favourable for rain, thundershower with lightning associated with the gusty wind at one or two places in the coastal districts and some districts in the northern and western districts as the sea breeze carrying enough moisture will come in contact with the dry and hot air.
As the condition is likely to prevail for four days till May 1, the day temperature in these districts will come down by around 2 degrees Celsius, the IMD added.
In view of the nor’wester, IMD has issued a yellow warning for the following districts.
