Bhubaneswar: Most parts of Odisha came under intense heat wave on Tuesday with Sambalpur recording the highest temperature at 45 degrees Celsius.
Besides, the temperature hovered at 40 degrees and above at 12 places in Angul (41.7), Jharsuguda (44.2), Sundargarh (41), Hirakud (44.4), Talcher (42.5), Bhawanipatna (40.6), Balangir (41.8), Titlagarh (43.4), Malkangiri (40.2), Sonepur (44), Chandbali (40) and Bhubaneswar (40.3).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heat wave warning for the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Bargarh, Sonepur, Balangir, Nuapada and Kalahandi for three days up to June 14.
Though the IMD has issued thunderstorm and lightning warning at some places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Angul, Balasore, Balangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Boudh, Jajpur and Bhadrak in the next five days till June 16, there will be little change in the weather condition.
