Heat Wave: School Timing Rescheduled In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With the Met office forecasting a harsh summer from next month, the state government on Friday scheduled the school timings to morning hours from March 1.

The new timing of schools is meant for students of Classes IX, X, XI and XII. The classes IX and XI will run from 7 am to 9 am and classes X and XI from 9 am to 1 pm.

Keeping in line with its earlier order on February 25, the government has directed District Education Officers (DEOs) to follow the guidelines to protect the school students and staff against heat wave.

The DEOs have been told to ensure supply of drinking water and ORS to all schools and carry out repair of defunct tube wells. They can also take the help of local Health facilities and officials in case of emergency.
