Bhubaneswar, which saw the highest day temperature in 11 years at 44.3 degree on Monday, recorded 33.2 degree Celsius this afternoon after witnessing rainfall in the morning. It is expected to touch 35°C by the end of the day. However, the day temperature will slowly rise in the city thereafter and soar to 40°C on June 16-17.

While the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a relief from sultry weather conditions in coastal areas of the state for two days, the western districts will continue to reel under severe heatwave. People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during 11 am -3 pm,” it said.

The MeT office has also issued yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning at some places in South and North coastal Odisha during this period. These is also a forecast for light to moderate rain in these districts.
