According to the evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Boudh was the hottest place with maximum temperature of 42 degree Celsius. It was followed by Jharsuguda and Sambalpur with 41.6 degree on the day.

While Rourkela recorded 41.4 degree Celsius, Angul registered 41.1, Sundargarh 41 and Balangir and Jagatsinghpur 4o.5 degree Celsius.

The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar reported maximum temperature of 39.5 and 38.2 degree Celsius.

The IMD has forecast that maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise further by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during next 24 hours and no large change thereafter at many places of Odisha. Consequently, day temperature is likely to be 40 degree Celsius or more at a few places during next 3-4 days.

Since hot and humid condition is likely to prevail in several districts for next 3-4 days, the Met office has advised the people to take precautionary measures while going outside.
