Malkangiri: Road communication in Malkangiri district has been disrupted following heavy rain on Wednesday night.
The district received 164.8 mm rainfall on Wednesday night.
According to reports, road communication from Malkangiri to Balimela and Kalimela has been disrupted with floodwater flowing at 5 feet on Poteru bridge at MV-11 and Kanyashram bridge in Kankarkonda.
Till reports last came in, hundreds of vehicles are stranded on both sides of the two bridges.
The locals said that two culverts near the two bridges, construction of which had started four years ago, is yet to be completed.
