Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall and hailstorm are very likely to occur at one or two places in Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj in Odisha during the next 16 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.
It has issued Yellow warning for dense fog at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Jajpur between 8.30 am on December 30 and 8.30 am on December 31 Shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur at a few places in North Odisha.
The MeT office has also forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places in coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Rayagada on Thursday (December 30).
Dense fog warning continues for the subsequent 24 hours and the districts to be affected are Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to occur at a few places in North Odisha and at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Boudh on New Year (January 1).
The weather, however, will remain dry and there is no rain forecast for the next three days.
While there will be no large change in the night temperature for the next two days, the mercury will gradually fall by 3-5 degree Celsius in the 3 days, it added.
