Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack till 5.45 pm on Saturday.
According to the weather agency, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning may occur in Khurda (including Bhubaneswar) and Cuttack (including Cuttack city) districts in 3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Several thunderstorms along with lighting and heavy rain and gusty winds may also occur in the districts of Angul, Boudh, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal and Kandhamal till 6 pm.
The IMD had earlier warned of moderate to heavy rain at isolated places in Angul, Boudh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Sundargarh till 4.52 pm.
