Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in several districts of Odisha till August 25, informed the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.
The MeT office has issued an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Keonjhar till August 24. A yellow warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Khurda during the same period.
Likewise, orange warning has been sounded for Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Deogarh the following day and yellow warning for Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, and Koraput during the same period.
The weatherman further informed that the water level in Subarnarekha, Budhabalanga, and Baitarani rivers is likely to rise due to the rainfall in the next two days.
