Bhubaneswar: The Director of regional centre of India Meteorological Department here, H R Biswas on Tuesday said that several places in interior Odisha are likely to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph in the next 24 hours.
Thunderstorm and light to moderate rain are likely to occur in some parts of coastal Odisha, he said.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will have partly cloudy sky and are likely to experience thunderstorm and one or two spell of rain in the evening, he added.
On Wednesday, several places in North Odisha and a few places in South Odisha will witness thunderstorm activities. Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Balasore, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur districts, Biswas said.
These pre-mosoon thunderstorm activities accompanied by nor’wester will continue for the next three days and then drop in the subsequent five to six days, he said.
Biswas further said that temperature will remain below normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius in interior Odisha for the next two to three days.

June 3: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Nabaangpur, Koraput, Kandhamal, Boudh, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, also heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places in Ganjam, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur.
June 4: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Cuttack, Angul, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and Balasore.
