Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to occur across coastal and south Odisha in the next 48 hours, owing to formation of a cyclonic storm over the North Bay of Bengal.
According to Indian Meteorological Department’s Bhubaneswar Regional Centre, the cyclonic storm is expected to develop into a low pressure over the east-west parts of the sea during the next 48 hours.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea as the low pressure is likely to trigger heavy rainfall coupled with strong wind, an official informed.
On Saturday, moderate to heavy rainfall occurred in many parts of the state.
