Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain lashed the Odisha capital from Tuesday afternoon. The city also experienced thunderstorm and lightning.
The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning in some parts of Odisha, besides Bhubaneswar, during the next three hours.
This weather condition will prevail in Cuttack ( including Cuttack city), Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Puri, Balangir, Raygada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapara, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Sundargarh, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Bhadrak during till 6.45 pm.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Earth Network has predicted medium thunderstorm and lightning in Delanga block of Puri district, Tigiria and Banki-Dampara blocks of Cuttack district and Jatani and Bhubaneswar blocks of Khurda district within 5.37 pm.
